Doctor At Sea (TV Series)
''Doctor at Sea'' is a British television comedy series based on a set of books by Richard Gordon about the misadventures of doctors at sea. The series followed directly from its predecessor ''Doctor in Charge'', and was produced by London Weekend Television in 1974. Although each of its predecessors had long runs, ''Doctor at Sea'' was limited to a single series of thirteen episodes. It has been suggested that only one series was to be produced as costs for this series were a lot higher than previous programmes. Writers for the ''Doctor at Sea'' episodes were Richard Laing, George Layton, Jonathan Lynn, Bernard McKenna, Gail Renard and Phil Redmond. Robin Courteney Nedwell (27 September 1946 – 1 February 1999) was an English actor. He is best remembered for his role as Duncan Waring in the television comedy series ''Doctor in the House'' and its sequels; he also featured in other television series such as '' The Lovers'', ''The Upchat Connection'', ''The Climber'' and the ATV comedy-drama '' Shillingbury Tales''. Biography He was born in Bournville, Birmingham, West Midlands, England but moved with his family at an early age to Cardiff, Wales, where he was educated at Monkton House prep school. Elizabeth Counsell (born 7 June 1942) is an English actress, best known for starring in the BBC television series ''Brush Strokes'', and for her work in classical theatre. Career She played Lady Macbeth to Michael Gambon's Macbeth at the Forum Theatre, Billingham in 1968, and was Michael Redgrave's leading lady in his anthology ''Shakespeare's People'', 1976-77. ''Doctor in the House'' is a 1954 British comedy film directed by Ralph Thomas and produced by Betty Box.
