Doctor González is a municipality and town located in the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo León. It has a territorial extension of 701.8 km². The municipal seat has 404 metres above sea level. The municipality is located 48 km northeastwards Monterrey. The municipality was named in honor of José Eleuterio González. Geography It borders with the municipalities of Higueras and Cerralvo to north, Pesquería and Los Ramones to south, Cerralvo to west, and Marín to west. Jose Eleuterio Gonzalez Mendoza (born 20 February 1813, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico) was a Mexican physician and philanthropist, founder of the UANL and the Hospital Universitario José V VCVBEleuterio González. His father was Matías Gonzalez, an officer of the Royalist Army and his mother was Josefa Mendoza de Gonzalez. Higueras, Nuevo León
Higueras is a municipality in Nuevo León, Mexico. It has an area of 600.2 square kilometers. It is bordered on the north by Sabinas Hidalgo and Salinas Victoria, on the south by Doctor González y Marín, to the east by Agualeguas and Cerralvo, and to the west by General Zuazua and Cienega de Flores.
