Dmitry Shakulin
Dmitry Shakulin (born May 11, 1968) is a Russian basketball coach and former player. He most recently was an assistant coach for the CSKA Moscow of the VTB United League. With the Russian national team he played at the EuroBasket 1993 where he won the silver medal and at the EuroBasket 1997 where he won the bronze medal. At the club competition level, he won Russian League title two times with CSKA Moscow, in 1997 and 1998. He also played in Israel for Maccabi Rishon LeZion and for German first division side SV Oberelchingen. After completing his playing career Schakulin worked as a trainer, primarily as an assistant coach to many teams. Among his greatest successes as assistant coach so far includes the U20 European Championship in 2005 as well as numerous Russian League titles with CSKA Moscow. Basketball coaching is the act of directing and strategizing the behavior of a basketball team or individual basketball player. Basketball coaching typically encompasses the improvement of individual and team offensive and defensive skills, as well as overall physical conditioning. Coaches also have the responsibility to improve their team by player development, strategy, and in-game management. Coaches also teach and inspire their team to be their best. Coaching is usually performed by a single person, often with the help of one or more assistants. Basketball at the 2012 Summer Olympics was the eighteenth appearance of the sport of basketball as an official Olympic medal event. It was held from 28 July to 12 August 2012. The preliminary matches and the women's quarterfinal matches were played in the new Basketball Arena in Olympic Park, which seated up to 12,000 spectators. The men's knockout games and the women's games, from semifinals onward were played in the North Greenwich Arena. EuroBasket 2011 was the 37th men's EuroBasket, European Basketball Championship, held by FIBA Europe. The competition was hosted by Lithuania. Jonas Kazlauskas
Jonas Kazlauskas (born 21 November 1954) is a Lithuanian professional basketball coach and former player. He was most recently the head coach of the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Playing career Kazlauskas played for Statyba Vilnius from 1973 to 1985. He won a bronze medal in the former USSR Supreme League in 1979. Coaching career Clubs Kazlauskas is considered to be one of the best coaches from Europe. In the past, he has coached Lithuania's top two pro club basketball teams, Žalgiris Kaunas (1994–2000) and Lietuvos rytas Vilnius (2001–2004). The Professional Basketball League (russian: Профессиональная баскетбольная лига (ПБЛ), Professionalʼnaya basketbolʼnaya liga), often abbreviated to the PBL, was the pre-eminent men's professional basketball league in Russia, and the successor to the Russian Super League 1, which is now the second-tier division of the Russian basketball league system. Duško Vujošević ( sr-Cyrl, Душко Вујошевић; born 3 March 1959) is a Montenegrin and Serbian professional basketball coach. Early life Duško Vujošević was born in Titograd (modern-day Podgorica), PR Montenegro, FPR Yugoslavia. His parents are from Kuči (a region in Podgorica and historical tribe). Ettore Messina (born 30 September 1959) is an Italian professional basketball coach who is the head coach of Olimpia Milano of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). He has won four EuroLeague championships as a head coach. Messina is regarded as one of the best European basketball coaches of all time, having been named one of the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors in 2008.
