Dmitriy Sorokin
Dmitriy Andreyevich Sorokin (Дмитрий Андреевич Сорокин; born 27 September 1992 in Khabarovsk) is a Russian athlete specialising in the triple jump. He represented his country at the 2015 World Championships finishing seventh. In addition, he won the gold medal at the 2015 Summer Universiade. His personal bests in the event are 17.29 metres outdoors (+0.2 m/s, Gwangju 2015) and 16.94 metres indoors (Moscow 2015). Doping ban In May 2011 Sorokin tested positive for the stimulant Carphedon Phenylpiracetam (INN: fonturacetam, brand names Phenotropil Фенотропил, Carphedon), is a phenylated analog of the drug piracetam. 2015 World Championships In Athletics – Men's Triple Jump
The men's triple jump at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Beijing National Stadium on 26 and 27 August. The early season meet at Doha gave an indication that this would be an exciting year in the triple jump. Pedro Pablo Pichardo, who would return here as the previous silver medalist jumped 18.06 to become the #3 jumper in history. In that same meet, Olympic Champion Christian Taylor was only 2 cm behind to equal the previous #3, who was the defending world champion Teddy Tamgho. Tamgho was also in Doha, finishing in third behind the fireworks, but Tamgho was coming off a 1-year drug suspension for missing multiple tests. Following that meet, two weeks later Pichardo improved his world lead to 18.08 at home in Havana and then in early July, Taylor improved to 18.06 and beat Pichardo in Lausanne. The men's triple jump at the 2019 World Athletics Championships was held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha from 27 to 29 September 2019. Summary On the second jump of the competition, Will Claye took the lead with a 17.61m. Two jumpers later, Cristian Nápoles went 17.36m, then Pedro Pablo Pichardo, now jumping for Portugal, jumped 17.49m. That held through the round.
