"Diwata" ("Fairy") is a song by Filipino rapper Abra featuring Chito Miranda, frontman of the Filipino rock band Parokya ni Edgar. The single released in early 2014, and the music video was released on December 31, 2014, via YouTube. "Diwata" is the second hit song from Abra after "Gayuma" in 2012. Music video The music video features Abra and General Luna vocalist Nicole Asencio (granddaughter of late Vice-President Salvador Laurel). Abra plays a college student who is frequently bullied by his schoolmates, which then he meets Asensio. Later on, Abra befriends Asencio and develops feelings for her. This caused Abra to be bullied furthermore. At the end of the video, Asencio reveals herself to be a fairy or diwata to Abra. That was also the reason why Abra was always bullied; Other people could not see Asencio, thus making him look crazy and like he was interacting with a ghost. Raymond Abracosa (born December 2, 1990), better known as Abra, is a Filipino rapper, hip hop recording artist and occasional actor. He gained mainstream popularity with his song "Gayuma". When the video reached more than 26 million views on YouTube, it was hailed as the highest number generated by any local artist. Before that, he is a well-known battle emcee in the FlipTop Battle League. Career His career started as a member of Pinoy hip hop group Lyrically Deranged Poets (LDP) in 2010. Jeepneys (), sometimes called jeeps (), are minibus-like public utility vehicles, serving as the most popular means of public transportation in the Philippines. They are known for their crowded seating and kitsch decorations, which have become a widespread symbol of Philippine culture and art. A Sarao jeepney was exhibited at the Philippine pavilion at the 1964 New York World's Fair as a national image for the Filipinos. Jeepneys originate from the American colonial period share taxis known as auto calesas, commonly shortened to "AC". "Gayuma" ("''Love Potion''") is a song by Filipino rapper Abra featuring Thyro Alfaro and Jeriko Aguilar, son of Ka Freddie Aguilar. The song is about a man in love with a transgender partner who learns he'd been given a love potion and takes an antidote. Music video The music video shows Abra and his partner enjoying time together, despite friends and other people being against their relationship. Later on in the video, Abra realizes that the person he loves is in fact transgender or "bakla" after his former girlfriend (played by Kat Alano) revealed that the partner had used a potion to attract Abra. He later meets a pretty girl in a bar, and the pair start dating. After the girl goes to lean on his shoulder, his former transgender love interest suddenly appears to be the one at his side.
