The Division of Spence is an electoral district for the Australian House of Representatives. It is located in the outer northern suburbs of Adelaide in South Australia. Geography Federal electoral division boundaries in Australia are determined at redistributions by a redistribution committee appointed by the Australian Electoral Commission. Redistributions occur for the boundaries of divisions in a particular state, and they occur every seven years, or sooner if a state's representation entitlement changes or when divisions of a state are malapportioned. History It is named in honour of Catherine Helen Spence, an advocate for female suffrage and electoral reform and the first female political candidate in Australia. Matt Burnell
Matthew Paul Burnell has been the member of the Australian House of Representatives for the Division of Spence in South Australia since he was elected at the 2022 Australian federal election. He is a member of the Australian Labor Party. Early life Burnell grew up on his family's citrus farm near Mildura in Victoria. The Gawler River is a river located in the Adelaide Plains district of the Mid North region in the Australian state of South Australia. Kings Road
King's Road or Kings Road (or sometimes the King's Road, especially when it was the king's private road until 1830, or as a colloquialism by middle/upper class London residents), is a major street stretching through Chelsea and Fulham, both in west London. Main North Road
Main North Road is the major north-south arterial route through the suburbs north of the Adelaide City Centre in the city of Adelaide, South Australia. It continues north through the settled areas of South Australia and is a total of long, from North Adelaide to out of Port Augusta. It follows the route established in the early years of the colony by explorer John Horrocks and was a major route for farmers and graziers to reach the capital, passing through rich farmland and the Clare Valley wine region. Light Regional Council is a local government area north of Adelaide in South Australia. It is based in the town of Kapunda, and includes the towns of Freeling, Greenock, Hansborough, Hewett, Roseworthy and Wasleys. Buchfelde, South Australia
Buchfelde is now a suburb of Gawler, South Australia, on the northern outskirts of Adelaide in South Australia. History A property in the area was settled in 1848 by Dr. Richard von Schomburgk and his brother Otto, and is named after their financial benefactor Leopold von Buch who helped them flee Germany. The name was changed from Buchfelde to Loos in 1918 after a town in France which was the site of a battle in 1915. This was to remove a "name of enemy origin". The name returned to Buchfelde in November 1990. Geography The modern boundaries of the suburb were set in June 2011 after the construction of the Northern Expressway. Gawler Belt is a locality to the northwest of Gawler in South Australia. The area is predominantly rural in character, although most of the area is now too small allotments to farm profitably, so it is essentially a rural and industrial suburb of Gawler.
