It is located on the northern portion of Southeast Saskatchewan, bordering Manitoba. The most populous community in this division is the city of Melfort. The census geographic units of Canada are the census subdivisions defined and used by Canada's federal government statistics bureau Statistics Canada to conduct the country's quinquennial census. These areas exist solely for the purposes of statistical analysis and presentation; they have no government of their own. Nipawin, Saskatchewan
Nipawin () is a town in Saskatchewan, Canada, on the Saskatchewan River portion of Tobin Lake. The town lies between Codette Lake, created by the Francois-Finlay Dam (built in 1986) and Tobin Lake, created by the E.B. Campbell Dam built in 1963, renamed from Squaw Rapids. The construction of Francois-Finlay Dam earned Nipawin the nickname the "Town of Two Lakes". Nipawin is bordered by the Rural Municipality of Nipawin No. 487 and the Rural Municipality of Torch River No. 488 (the latter across the Saskatchewan River). Highway 35 and Highway 55 intersect in Nipawin. The Nipawin Airport and the Nipawin Water Aerodrome also serve the community. Mistatim, Saskatchewan
Mistatim ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Bjorkdale No. 426 and Census Division No. 14. It is just north of Highway 3. Mistatim is east of the Town of Tisdale and west of Hudson Bay. The Greenwater Lake Provincial Park is to the south. The Mistatim post office first opened in 1907 and closed down in 1914, to re-open in 1917. Mistatim Station post office was established in 1930, with a change of name to Mistatim in 1938. The early village was a settlement of Germans, Hungarians, French and Scots. Early surveying and settlement in the area was difficult in this heavily forested area without roads, and several muskeg areas could not be crossed until winter freeze up. Archerwill ( 2021 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Barrier Valley No. 397 and Census Division No. 14. The village is approximately north of Wadena, south of Tisdale and southeast of the City of Melfort. Since 1981 Archerwill has been the administrative centre of the RM of Barrier Valley. History The community is named, in a syllabic abbreviation, after the secretary-treasurer and two councilors of the executive governing council of the RM of Barrier Valley in 1924.
