Diving At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's 3 Metre Springboard
The women's 3 metre springboard diving competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo was held from 30 July to 1 August 2021 at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. It was the 24th appearance of the event, which has been held at every Olympic Games since the 1920 Summer Olympics. Competition format The competition was held in three rounds: * Preliminary round: All divers performed five dives; the top 18 divers advanced to the semi-final. * Semi-final: The 18 divers performed five dives; the scores of the qualifications were erased and the top 12 divers advanced to the final. * Final: The 12 divers performed five dives; the semi-final scores were erased and the top three divers won the gold, silver and bronze medals accordingly. Within each round of five dives, one dive must be from each of the five groups (forward, back, reverse, inward, and twisting). Shi Tingmao (; born 31 August 1991) is a Chinese diver representing Chongqing diving team. She has been dominant in the 3 metre springboard events in the 2010s. She has won four gold medals in Olympic competitions, two at the 2016 Olympics and two more at the 2020 Olympics. She also holds eight golds in the World Championships. Hailey Rosanne Hernandez (born March 23, 2003) is a female diving (sport), diver from the United States. Personal life Hernandez graduated from Southlake Carroll High School in 2021 and will attend the University of Texas, where she plans to major in biology. Diving Hernandez started diving at age seven. She is a four-time Texas 6A high school state champion and a two-time world junior medalist. She qualified for the 2020 Olympics in the Diving at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's 3 metre springboard, women's 3 meter springboard, placing second behind Krysta Palmer. She formed part of the gold medal winning Great Britain squad in the Team event at the 2024 World Aquatics championships, and has won two World Championship medals in her specialist 3 metre synchronised springboard event with Yasmin Harper.
