''Divine'' is a 1935 French drama film directed by Max Ophüls and starring Simone Berriau, George Rigaud and Gina Manès.Williams p.211 The film's sets were designed by the art director Jacques Gotko and Robert Gys. It was shot at the Billancourt Studios in Paris and on location in Hyeres. Synopsis A girl from the countryside travels to Paris, only to find herself working in a music hall. Max Ophüls
Maximillian Oppenheimer (; 6 May 1902 – 26 March 1957), known as Max Ophüls (; ), was a German-French film director who worked in Germany (1931–1933), France (1933–1940 and 1950–1957), and the United States (1947–1950). Yvette Lebon
Yvette Lebon (14 August 1910 – 28 July 2014) was a French actress. Biography Lebon studied music and art before going into acting. During World War II, she was the mistress of Jean Luchaire, a French journalist and press baron executed after the war for collaboration with France's German occupiers. She married American producer Nat Wachsberger and later moved to the United States with him. She lived there until his death in 1992. The couple had one son, Patrick, who became a film producer. Her first husband was Roger Duchesne, a French actor who was sanctioned after the war for collaborating with the German occupiers. They acted together in the film ''Gibraltar'' (1938). Her relationship with collaborator-press baron Luchaire "attracted the most opprobrium." Thérèse Dorny (born Thérèse Jeanne Longo-Dorni; 18 September 1891 – 14 March 1976) was a French film and stage actress. Biography Thérèse Jeanne Longo-Dorni was born on 18 September 1891 in Paris, Île-de-France, France, the only child to Gaudence Jean Baptiste Marie Longo-Dorni (born 1859) and Marie Antonia Longo-Dorni (née Junghanss, born 1865). She began her career as a stage actress in 1913, and made her debut as a film actress in the 1930 film The Sweetness of Loving. She was best known for her roles in Cognasse (1932) and Les Diaboliques (1955). Dorny married the French painter and graphic artist André Dunoyer de Segonzac on 19 December 1964 in Viroflay, Île-de-France, France, who she remained with until his death in 1974.
