Districts Of Hungary
Districts of Hungary are the second-level divisions of Hungary after counties. They replaced the 175 subregions of Hungary in 2013. Altogether, there are 174 districts in the 19 counties, and there are 23 districts in Budapest. Districts of the 19 counties are numbered by Arabic numerals and named after the district seat, while districts of Budapest are numbered by Roman numerals and named after the historical towns and neighbourhoods. In Hungarian, the districts of the capital and the rest of the country hold different titles. The districts of Budapest are called ''kerületek'' (lit. district, pl.) and the districts of the country are called ''járások.'' Mohács District
Mohács ( hu, Mohácsi járás) is a district in eastern part of Baranya County, Hungary. ''Mohács'' is also the name of the town where the district seat is found. The district is located in the Southern Transdanubia Statistical Region. Geography Mohács District borders with Bonyhád District and Szekszárd District ''(Tolna County)'' to the north, Baja District ''(Bács-Kiskun County)'' to the east, the Croatian county of Osijek-Baranja to the south, Siklós District, Bóly District and Pécsvárad District to the west. Szigetvár
Szigetvár (; hr, Siget; tr, Zigetvar; English language, English: Islandcastle; german: Inselburg) is a town in Baranya (county), Baranya County in southern Hungary. History The town's Medieval fortification, fortress was the setting of the Siege of Szigetvár in 1566. It was a sanjak centre at first in Budin Province, Ottoman Empire, Budin Province (1566–1601), later in Kanizsa Province, Ottoman Empire, Kanije Province (1601–1689). The former Andrássy Palace is next to them. Some other monuments in the town date back to Ottoman Empire, Ottoman times. Two years after the siege, the mosque of Ali Pasha was built, later – in 1788 – to be transformed into a Christian church: the Roman Catholic parish church. The two minarets, as well as the windows and niches with ogee arches indicate its original function.
