District Of Columbia National Guard
The District of Columbia National Guard is the branch of the United States National Guard based in the District of Columbia. It comprises both the District of Columbia Army National Guard, D.C. Army National Guard and the District of Columbia Air National Guard, D.C. Air National Guard components. The president of the United States is the commander-in-chief for the District of Columbia National Guard. Command is exercised through the United States Secretary of Defense, secretary of defense and the commanding general, Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), District of Columbia National Guard. Naval Militia
A naval militia is a reserve military organization administered under the authority of a state government in the United States. It is often composed of reservists of the Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, and Coast Guard Reserve, retirees and volunteers. 231st Combat Communications Squadron
The 231st Combat Communications Squadron, District of Columbia Air National Guard, was a tenant unit of the 113th Wing based at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, United States. The squadron used traditional military communications systems such as the Defense Switch Network (DSN), the Automated Digital Network (AUTODIN), and Defense Messaging System (DMS), as well as off-the-shelf commercial communications systems. 201st Airlift Squadron
The 201st Airlift Squadron flies Boeing C-40 Clipper. It is a unit of the District of Columbia Air National Guard. Its parent unit is the 113th Wing. 121st Fighter Squadron
The 121st Fighter Squadron (121 FS) is a unit of the District of Columbia Air National Guard 113th Wing located at Joint Base Andrews, Camp Springs, Maryland. The 121st is equipped with the Block 30 F-16C/D Fighting Falcon. The squadron is a descendant organization of the 121st Observation Squadron, established on 10 July 1940. It is one of the 29 original National Guard Observation Squadrons of the United States Army National Guard formed before World War II. 113th Operations Group
The 113th Operations Group is a flying group of the United States Air Force. It provides air sovereignty forces to defend District of Columbia and also provides fighter, airlift and support forces capable of local, national and global employment. The group's primary mission is training of air combat and operational airlift crews for national defense. The group also provides a ready response force of fighters for the defense of the District of Columbia area. Members of the group also assist local and federal law enforcement agencies in combating drug trafficking in the District of Columbia on a case by case basis. Mobilization Augmentation Command
The Headquarters of the United States Department of the Army (HQDA) approved its Command Implementation Plan (CIP) to restructure the District of Columbia Army National Guard (DCARNG) Area Mobilization Command. As part of this restructure, the Mobilization Augmentation Command (MAC) received a name change as of 22 September 2016. The new name is Multi-Agency Augmentation Command (MAC). HQDA stated the restructure was made in order to provide flexibility and support to the DCARNG's unique state and federal missions.
