District Of Columbia Firebirds
The District of Columbia Firebirds (also UDC Firebirds) are the athletic teams that represent the University of the District of Columbia, located in Washington, D.C., in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Firebirds compete as members of the East Coast Conference for all nine sports. The Washington Wizards are an American professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C. Jeffrey George Ruland (born December 16, 1958) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He is the former head coach of the Iona Gaels men's basketball team and the UDC Firebirds men's college basketball team. The 2012 NCAA Division II men's basketball tournament involved 64 schools playing in a single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division II college basketball as a culmination of the 2011–12 basketball season.
