District Council Of Ridley-Truro
The District Council of Ridley-Truro was a local government area in South Australia from 1991 to 1997. It commenced on 1 October 1991 following the amalgamation of the District Council of Ridley and the District Council of Truro. It comprised the whole of the cadastral Hundreds of Angas, Anna, Bagot, Forster, Fisher, Jellicoe, Nildottie, Ridley, Skurray, and parts of the Hundreds of Dutton and Bowhill. It had sixteen councillors at its inception, with two councillors representing each of the eight wards of the former municipalities. The council's seat was located in the town of Cambrai. In 1996, the council was investigated by anti-corruption police after a ratepayers' meeting passed a vote of no-confidence in them. The District Council of Mount Pleasant was a local government area in South Australia from 1935 to 1997. The council seat was located at Mount Pleasant. It was established on 1 May 1935 following the amalgamation of the District Council of Springton and District Council of Tungkillo with a section of the Hundred of Finniss from the District Council of Mannum and a section of the Hundred of Mobilong from the District Council of Mobilong. It had an area of approximately , comprising mainly "agricultural, grazing and vineyard lands", and included the whole of the cadastral Hundreds of Jutland and Tungkillo and parts of the Hundreds of Moorooroo, Talunga, Finniss and Mobilong. The District Council of Morgan was a local government area in South Australia from 1888 to 1997, centring on the town of Morgan. The council was established on 5 January 1888 following the passage of the ''District Councils Act 1887''. It comprised the cadastral hundreds of Brownlow, Cadell, Eba, Hay, Krichauff (later renamed Beatty), Lindley, Schomburgk (later renamed Maude) and Stuart. The District Council of Mannum was a local government area in South Australia from 1877 to 1997, centring on the town of Mannum. It was proclaimed on 23 August 1877, comprising the cadastral Hundred of Finniss, "situated between the eastern fringe of the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Murray River." The first meeting of the council was held on 1 September 1877 at the Bogan Hotel (now the Mannum Hotel). It had 120 ratepayers in its first year, with a ratable property value of £2,910. In the early 1880s, the council area had a population of 773. Cambrai is a small town located on the eastern side of the Mount Lofty Ranges, along the River Marne. Originally named ''Rhine Villa'', it was one of many Australian towns renamed during World War I to remove any connection with German place names and named after the Battle of Cambrai. It was located on the Sedan railway line. It served as the terminus of the line from 1964 until the 1980s. The bounded locality of Cambrai includes the former unbounded locality of Rheinthal, which was approximately 3 km north of the town of Cambrai. It had a Lutheran church and school. The Hundred of Jellicoe (formerly Hundred of North Rhine) is a cadastral hundred in the County of Eyre in South Australia. It is located on the east Mount Lofty Ranges foothills. The Hundred of North Rhine was proclaimed in 1851 but the name was changed in 1918 to the current, after Admiral John Jellicoe, as part of a process to remove "names of enemy origin" at the time of World War I. The Hundred of Jellicoe includes the township and most of the locality of Truro, Towitta, Keyneton and a portion of the western edge of the locality of Sedan.
