District 3, Ho Chi Minh City
District 3 ( vi, Quận 3, links=no) is an urban district of Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam. Together with District 1, District 3 is considered the bustling heart of the city, with a multitude of businesses, religious sites, historical buildings and tourist attractions. History Established in December 1920, it was one of the first districts of Saigon. Geography This district has a total area of 5 km² and borders District 1, Phú Nhuận District, District 10 and Tân Bình District. It is the location of Xá Lợi Pagoda, the largest in the city. The Vĩnh Nghiêm Pagoda is also located in District 3. There are many French-style villas in this district. Some notable offices are located in District 3 such as the Royal Thai Consulate (77 Trần Quốc Thảo). Saigon Railway Station
Saigon station is a railway station in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The station is a major hub in the national railway network. Located about 1 km from the city center, Saigon railway station is the final station on the North–South railway, and the southernmost point of the Vietnamese railways. Despite the city being named Ho Chi Minh City after the Vietnam War, the name of the station has remained the same. History The original station, which opened in 1885, was located across from Bến Thành Market in District 1. Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal
The Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal (Vietnamese: ''Kênh Nhiêu Lộc – Thị Nghè'') is a canal in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The 9 km (6 mile) long canal passes through Districts 1, 3, Phu Nhuan, Tan Binh and Binh Thanh and flows into the Saigon River.
