District 1 () is the central urban district of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), the largest city in Vietnam. With a total area of the district has a population of 204,899 people as of 2010. The district is divided into 10 small subsets which are called wards (''phường''). District 1 contains most of the city's administrative offices, consulates, and large buildings. District 1 is the busiest district in the city with the highest living standards. Đồng Khởi street and Nguyễn Huệ boulevard in District 1 are the city's two main commercial centers. Active from 1951 to 1975, Air Viet Nam (Air VN) ( vi, Hãng Hàng không Việt Nam) was South Vietnam's first commercial air carrier, headquartered in District 1, Saigon. Established under a decree by Chief of State Bảo Đại, the airline flew over two million passengers, throughout the Vietnam War, and until its collapse due to Fall of Saigon. District 4 ( vi, Quận 4) is the smallest urban district (''quận'') of Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam. The Saigon Port is located here. Saigon River
The Saigon River ( vi, Sông Sài Gòn) is a river located in southern Vietnam that rises near Phum Daung in southeastern Cambodia, flows south and south-southeast for about and empties into the Soài Rạp, which in its turn empties into the South China Sea some northeast of the Mekong Delta. Thủ Đức is a municipal city (sub-city) under the administration of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The city was founded by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on December 9, 2020 from the districts of 2, 9, and Thủ Đức District. District 3 ( vi, Quận 3, links=no) is an urban district of Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam. Together with District 1, District 3 is considered the bustling heart of the city, with a multitude of businesses, religious sites, historical buildings and tourist attractions. Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal
The Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal (Vietnamese: ''Kênh Nhiêu Lộc – Thị Nghè'') is a canal in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The 9 km (6 mile) long canal passes through Districts 1, 3, Phu Nhuan, Tan Binh and Binh Thanh and flows into the Saigon River.
