Distorted Reality is a synthpop band from Germany / United States. Band history Distorted Reality is the synthpop band formed in 1997 by a collaboration between Martha M. Arce from Miami, United States and Christian Kobusch from Bielefeld, Germany. Distorted Reality's debut album, ''The Fine Line Between Love and Hate'', was released on 17 May 2002, on Accession Records. The band produced the album along with Bruno Kramm from Das Ich. It also contains re-mixes by Propaganda, Sabotage QCQC and Noyce. Distorted Reality has also signed with American label Nilaihah Records. ''The Fine Line Between Love and Hate'' was released in the US and Canada 13 May 2003. This version contains additional remixes by Assemblage 23, Forma Tadre, Cut.Rate.Box and Null Device. In 2003 and 2005 Distorted Reality performed live gigs at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, Germany. Assemblage 23
Assemblage 23 is an electronic act from the United States, currently based in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. It was founded in 1988 by Tom Shear who writes the music and lyrics and does the recording himself. Live performances are supported by Paul Seegers on keyboards and Mike Jenney on drums. History 1980s–1990s (pre–Assemblage 23) Prior to starting Assemblage 23, Shear experimented with music under the name Man on a Stage, beginning in the early 1980s. Most of Shear's music at this point was instrumental, as he lacked the confidence to sing; the quality of the music itself was highly questionable by his own admission. Shear eventually began to add vocals to his music; at the same time, Shear was also playing bass in a live band called the Advocates. In Strict Confidence is a German electro-industrial band. Formed in 1989, they were known as ''Seal of Secrecy'' until 1992. In Strict Confidence has been signed to several record labels, including Metropolis Records and WTII Records. History Founding 1989–2000 In Strict Confidence started out as a quartet, but stripped down to a duo (Dennis Ostermann and Jörg Schelte) in 1992, releasing two demos tapes on the way to their debut release ' Cryogenix' on Zoth Ommog in 1996 (the initial pressing of this album sold out in one week), shortly followed by an EP ''Collapse''. The band left Zoth Ommog after releasing follow-up effort '' Face the Fear'' in 1998, due to payment disputes. Haujobb is a German electronic musical project whose output has ranged drastically within the electronic music spectrum, from electro-industrial to Ambient music, ambient and techno. They have become a staple crossover act, bringing several forms of electro into the mainstream industrial music world. History Haujobb was formed in 1993 by Daniel Myer, Dejan Samardzic, and Björn Junemann. The Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT; ) is an annual world festival for "dark" music and "dark culture" in Leipzig, Germany. 150+ bands and artists from various backgrounds (gothic rock, gothic metal, EBM, industrial, noise, darkwave, neo-folk, neo-classical, medieval, experimental, deathrock and punk music being examples) play at several venues throughout the city over four days on Whitsuntide. Forma Tadre
Forma Tadre is a German electronic music project performed solo by Andreas Meyer. Forma Tadre's music spans numerous styles, from darkwave / Neue Deutsche Welle to industrial / EBM to ambient. History Forma Tadre began as a three-piece band in 1986 including Andreas Meyer. Andreas was heavily influenced by the electronic band Tangerine Dream which provided the impetus for the name Forma Tadre as a sort of portmanteau from Tangerine Dream's album Force Majeure. The band played some live shows and recorded an EP, ''Brightful Times'', in 1987, which was produced by German producer Robert "Bobby" Giddens who worked with many German bands including DAF. After this release, two of the members eventually split from the band without producing any more releases together, leaving Andreas as the sole member by 1994. Nilaihah Records is an American independent record label based in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded in 1999 by Kristy Venrick of The Azoic, after Oneiroid Psychosis asked her to release their next album. Since then, the label has signed acts spanning a variety of electronic music styles, such as Unheilig, The Azoic, and Frozen Plasma. The label formed a partnership with the German label Infacted, serving as the North American outlet for European bands like Ad Inferna, XP8, NamNamBulu, Conetik, Endanger, and Liquid Divine, signing them to distribution deals.
