Disney Masters
''Disney Masters'' is a series of books collecting anthologies of critically acclaimed Walt Disney Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse international comic artists. Italian artist Romano Scarpa was the first featured creator in the series, in the volume titled ''The Delta Dimension''. The publisher behind the project is Fantagraphics Books. The first book of the series was released in May 2018. Format Each book in the series is hardcover with dimensions measuring 7.5 inches × 10.25 inches, (191 mm × 260 mm). Each volume is printed in full color and contains about 200 pages. Supplementary materials such as art, biographies of the artists and essays are included as well. The MSRP for each single volume is set at $29.99 for volumes collecting around 200 pages and $34.99 for volumes collecting near 250 pages. Anthropomorphism is the attribution of human traits, emotions, or intentions to non-human entities. It is considered to be an innate tendency of human psychology. Giovan Battista Carpi
Giovan Battista Carpi (; November 16, 1927 – March 8, 1999) was a prolific Italian comics artist, illustrator, and teacher from Genoa. Carpi worked mainly for Disney comics, mostly on books featuring Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck, although he occasionally drew Mickey Mouse as well. He created Paperinik with Guido Martina. He also created other well-known comic characters for , such as Geppo, Nonna Abelarda, and . Comic Book
A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by descriptive prose and written narrative, usually, dialogue contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form. Free Comic Book Day
Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is an annual promotional effort by the North American comic book industry to attract new readers to independent comic book stores. It usually takes place on the first Saturday of May and is often cross-promoted with the release of a superhero film. Over two thousand participating stores give away millions of comic books annually. The event was proposed by Joe Field in the August 2001 issue of '' Comics & Games Retailer'' magazine and Free Comic Book Day was launched in 2002, coordinated by the industry's single large distributor, Diamond Comic Distributors. Corrado Mastantuono (born 20 December 1962) is an Italian comic book artist. Born in Rome, Mastantuono worked in the animation field until 1989, and then started to work for the Italian magazine ''L'Eternauta''. Daniel Branca
Daniel Branca (December 7, 1951 – January 28, 2005) was an Argentine comic artist known for his work on Disney comic books. Born in Buenos Aires, Branca got interested in comics and arts at an early age, and started his career working for a children's magazine at 14. At 16, Branca found employment as assistant animator for an advertising company. During the 1970s, he worked with Oscar Fernández, producing various comics for Argentine magazines: "El Sátiro Virgen", "El Mono Relojero". Branca's history as an animator shows clearly in his drawing style, which is elastic and energetic. Branca and Fernández moved to Barcelona, Spain, in 1976. William Van Horn
William Van Horn (born February 15, 1939) is a Disney comics artist and writer, and has been since 1988. He draws mostly Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge stories, and he has also written and/or illustrated stories based on the animated series ''DuckTales''. Some of these stories featured Launchpad McQuack as the main character. William's son Noel Van Horn is also a Disney comics artist, focusing on Mickey Mouse stories. Giorgio Cavazzano
Giorgio Cavazzano (); born 19 October 1947) is an Italian cartoonist, and one of the most famous Disney comics artists in the world. Biography Giorgio Cavazzano was born 19 October 1947 in Venice, Italy. At the age of twelve, Cavazzano started to work with his cousin, the cartoonist Luciano Capitanio, helping him ink comics for the publishers Mondadori and Dardo, as well as a comic story published in the magazine Voci d’Oltremare. Mau Heymans
Mau Heymans (born April 14, 1961, Veldhoven) is a Dutch Disney comics artist and writer. He started his career in 1987. He is primarily an illustrator and also wrote some stories with Kirsten de Graaf. Heyman does Scrooge McDuck universe comics for the publisher Oberon. His style is Carl Barks, Barks-inspired, with long necks and beaks on the ducks. Mau Heyman's older brother, Bas Heymans, is also a Disney comics artist, and the brothers have styles very similar to each other.
