Discovery Channel Norway
Discovery Channel (often referred to as simply Discovery) is a Norwegian television channel. Norway is one of the Discovery Channel's strongest markets and the channel regularly has an overall share of viewing of about two percent. It is most popular among younger men. Discovery Channel used to have one feed covering all four Nordic countries. Special feeds have been launched for Discovery Channel Denmark in 2001 and Discovery Channel Sweden in 2003. Norway and Finland received "Discovery Channel Nordic" until September 1, 2007, when the channel was split into Discovery Channel Norway and Discovery Channel Finland. At the same date, the channels launched in the digital terrestrial network in via RiksTV in Norway and PlusTV in Finland. Discovery Networks also offer Animal Planet, Animal Planet HD, Discovery HD, Discovery Science, Discovery World and TLC in Norway. RiksTV
RiksTV (formerly ''NTV Pluss'') is the distributor of pay television in the Norwegian digital terrestrial television network. Except for NRK1, NRK2, NRK3/NRK Super and the NRK radio channels, all broadcasts in the Norwegian DTT network are encrypted. The channels that are broadcast in the RiksTV packages are selected by RiksTV themselves. Discovery World is a former European pay television channel which featured programming in the fields of travel, culture and history. It used to be a pan-European television channel. Discovery Science is a pay television network, operated by Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA, it targets several European countries' television markets. It primarily features programming in the fields of space, technology and science. The channel originally launched as Discovery Sci-Trek. Discovery Channel Finland is a television channel targeting Finland owned by Discovery Networks. It has programming similar to its U.S. counterpart, the Discovery Channel. It was launched on September 1, 2007, replacing a former pan-Nordic version of the Discovery Channel. Discovery Channel (often referred to as simply Discovery) is the Swedish language version of the Discovery Channel, using a "factual entertainment" concept similar to the original American channel. As of 2006, it was the eighth most watched channel in Sweden (MMS). The channel used to broadcast the same schedule as the other Discovery channels in the Nordic countries, but with Swedish language presentation, advertising and subtitles. Discovery Channel (often referred to as simply Discovery) is a Danish television channel. The Discovery Channel has been available to Danish viewers since 1989, but started becoming increasingly localised during the 2000s. For example, they have increasingly started broadcasting programmes in Danish. Since TNS Gallup started measuring viewing for the channel in 2002, the channel has continuously held a 1.3 percent share of all viewing. The channel is available from most cable networks, including YouSee. On satellite it is available from Canal Digital.
