Discover Wisconsin is a weekly, non-fictional, television program which encourages tourism in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It features profiles of cities, events, and tourist attractions throughout the state. The program is written, directed, and produced in Madison, Wisconsin, and is billed as the longest running tourism TV show in the United States. The program has won 20 National Television Awards, and has received 8 Emmy nominations, winning once in 2012 for its 25th Anniversary Special. Wisconsin () is a state in the upper Midwestern United States. Wisconsin is the 25th-largest state by total area and the 20th-most populous. Madison is the county seat of Dane County and the capital city of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Tommy Thompson
Tommy George Thompson (born November 19, 1941) is an American Republican politician who most recently served as interim president of the University of Wisconsin System from 2020 to 2022. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the 42nd governor of Wisconsin from 1987 to 2001 and 19th United States secretary of Health and Human Services from 2001 to 2005, in the cabinet of President George W. Bush. He is the longest-serving governor in Wisconsin history, holding office from January 1987 until February 2001, and is the only person to be elected to the office four times. During his tenure as governor he was also chair of Amtrak, the nation's passenger rail service. Wausau ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Marathon County, Wisconsin, United States. The Wisconsin River divides the city into east and west. Eagle River is a city in Vilas County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,398 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Vilas County. Stephanie Klett
Stephanie Ann Klett is a broadcast personality who served as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. Biography A graduate from Beloit College in 1989, Klett served as Miss Wisconsin in 1992. Klett included her “Attitude on AIDS” campaign as a part of her platform and reached more than 53,000 teens during 1992-93 with messages designed to separate HIV/AIDS myths from facts. She was the host of the longest-running tourism TV show in the U.S., ''Discover Wisconsin'', from 1993 to 2011, and continues to guest host the show.
