Fonovisa Records is an American Spanish language record label founded in 1984 by Guillermo Santiso as a subsidiary of Televisa. Its former name before being acquired by Televisa in 1984 was Profono Internacional, which was founded in 1978. Fonovisa mainly produces Mexican style music. It is well known for its signing with artists such as Los Tigres Del Norte, Los Bukis, Los Temerarios, Enrique Iglesias, Lucero and Thalía. In late 2002, Fonovisa was acquired from Televisa by the Univision Music Group. Fonovisa was owned by the Univision Music Group until May 2008 when it was bought by Universal Music Group. It is now part of Universal Music Latin Entertainment. Fonovisa headquarters are now in the Capitol Record Building, in Hollywood, California. Janney Marín Rivera (born June 26, 1985), better known as Chiquis Rivera, is an American singer and television personality. She is the eldest daughter of singer Jenni Rivera. Bronco is a Mexican grupero band from Apodaca, Nuevo León. Their modern take on regional Mexican music in the 1980s and 1990s helped earn them a number of international hits. Banda Sinaloense El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga, often referred to simply as Banda El Recodo, is a Mexican banda formed in Mazatlán, Sinaloa in 1938; it has been under the direction of the Lizárraga family. Alfredo Olivas (born October 1, 1994, in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico) is a Regional Mexican singer-songwriter, specializing in the styles of banda, pacific norteño, norteño-banda, and mariachi. He is popularly known as "Alfredito", "Alfredito Olivas" (little Alfredo) or "el Patroncito" (after a song on the eponymous album ''El Patroncito'', 2011).
