Dirty Country
''Dirty Country'' is a 2007 documentary film that tells the real-life story of Larry Pierce, a small-town factory worker and family man who happens to be the raunchiest country music singer in America. Since 1993, Larry has quietly released over a dozen dirty country albums at truck stops across the country. Without the time or money to pursue a "legitimate" career in country music, Larry is content to lead an ordinary life and moonlight as a dirty country singer. But when he is forced into early retirement at his factory job of 30 years, Larry faces an uncertain future. Larry G. Pierce (July 18, 1950 – November 19, 2018) was an American comedic-country music singer. Early life Pierce lived most of his life in the small central Indiana town of Middletown. Pierce spent most of his life working in an auto parts factory, then after 30 years was forced into retirement due to the closing of the plant. Pierce decided to write his first dirty song as kind of a joke, the song was titled "Love Letters", leading to more songs with dirty lyrics. Clarence Henry Reid (February 14, 1939 – January 17, 2016) was an American musician, songwriter and producer also known by the stage name and alternate persona Blowfly. He released over 25 parody albums as Blowfly and another three albums as Clarence Reid. Biography Reid was born in Cochran, Georgia, in 1939 and moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, in his adolescence (c. 1949). His stage name was given to him by his grandmother who he would visit in Georgia occasionally. During this time, Reid would make explicit parodies of the country music that was popular on the airwaves in Cochran then, prompting his grandmother to brand him a " blowfly". Also known as Dr. Dirty, he typically performs in a white tailcoat suit and black derby hat.
