Directors Label
''Directors Label'' is a series of DVDs devoted to notable music video directors. First released in 2003 by Palm Pictures, the series was created by Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham, and Michel Gondry, the subjects of the first three volumes. Four new volumes were released in 2005, this time featuring Mark Romanek, Jonathan Glazer, Anton Corbijn and Stéphane Sednaoui. A second volume of Gondry's work was released exclusively on his website. Though another series has not yet been confirmed, other directors rumoured to be in future releases are Mike Mills, Shynola, Samuel Bayer, Jonas Åkerlund, Tarsem, David LaChapelle, Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, Jean-Baptiste Mondino and Roman Coppola, as well as a separate hip-hop and R&B series featuring Paul Hunter, Director X, and Chris Robinson. A music video director is the head of music video production. The director conceives of videos' artistic and dramatic aspects while instructing the musical act, technical crew, actors, models, and dancers. They may or may not be in collaboration with the musical act. On November 8, 1992, MTV began listing directors with the artist, song, and record company credits, because music videos had increasingly become an auteur's medium. Roman Coppola

The Pharcyde (currently known as The Far Side) is an American alternative hip hop group, formed in 1989, from South Central Los Angeles. Drop (The Pharcyde Song)
"Drop" is a single by alternative hip hop group The Pharcyde, released in 1995 as the second single for the group's second album, ''Labcabincalifornia''. The single contains a vocal sample of the Beastie Boys song " The New Style", using the titular "mmm..... drop" line delivered during a drop to create its hook. Music video The music video for "Drop" was directed by Spike Jonze and filmed in Los Angeles. The video features footage of the group performing the song backwards, replayed backwards, which when combined with the chopped, spacey beat of the song gives the video a slight surrealistic quality. The group also worked with linguistic experts to recite the entire song backwards. Beastie Boys
Beastie Boys were an American rap rock group from New York City, formed in 1978. The group was composed of Michael "Mike D" Diamond (vocals, drums), Adam "MCA" Yauch (vocals, bass), and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz (vocals, guitar, programming). Beastie Boys were formed out of members of experimental hardcore punk band the Young Aborigines in 1978, with Diamond as vocalist, Jeremy Shatan on bass guitar, John Berry on guitar, and Kate Schellenbach on drums. When Shatan left in 1981, Yauch replaced him on bass and the band changed their name to Beastie Boys. Berry left shortly thereafter and was replaced by Horovitz. "Sure Shot" is a song by American hip hop group Beastie Boys, released as the third single from their fourth album ''Ill Communication'' on June 2, 1994, two days after the album's release. The track features a sample from jazz flautist Jeremy Steig's "Howlin' For Judy", which provides the main instrumental part of the song. Release The CD and cassette maxi single (with a total of 7 tracks) features three remixes of the title track, by Large Professor, Mike Nardone and Dred Scott, and the Prunes, respectively. Wax was an American punk rock band from Los Angeles, California. Wax emerged during the pop punk resurgence of the early 1990s, and includes Joe Sib, Tom "Soda" Gardocki, Dave Georgeff, and Loomis Fall. Harold Williams (born August 1, 1970) is an American music video director, film director, film producer, and screenwriter. Early life Williams was born in Queens, New York. He is of mixed African-American and Honduran descent. He attended Adelphi University. He first displayed his work by tagging local billboards, storefronts, and playgrounds using HYPE as his graffiti tag.
