Directorate of Prosecution is the prosecuting agency of Government of Kerala, and under administrative control of Department of Home, Government of Kerala. The key function of the Directorate is to streamline the conduct of prosecution, for and on behalf of the State, before the Courts and to monitor and supervise the Prosecutors working in various sub-ordinate Courts in the State. The key responsibility of the Directorate is to supervise and streamline the work of prosecution machinery of the state. Government of Kerala is the subnational government of the Indian state of Kerala. The government is led by a chief minister, who selects all the other ministers. The Home Department ( Malayalam: ആഭ്യന്തര വകുപ്പ്) is a department of the Government of Kerala. It plays a key role in maintenance of law and order in the state of Kerala. The department oversees the maintenance of law and order, prevention and control of crime, prosecution of criminals besides dealing with fire services and prisons administration.
