Dionisii Donchev ( bg, Дионисий Дончев) (born April 9, 1935) is one of the prominent Bulgarian fine artists. Honorary citizen of his home town of Pleven, Bulgaria, where he still lives and works. He graduated from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia Sofia ( ; bg, София, Sofiya, ) is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria. Pleven
Pleven ( bg, Плèвен ) is the seventh most populous city in Bulgaria. Located in the northern part of the country, it is the administrative centre of Pleven Province, as well as of the subordinate Pleven municipality. It is the biggest economic center in Northwestern Bulgaria. At the 2021 census its population was 89,823. National Academy Of Arts
The National Academy of Arts ( bg, Национална художествена академия) is an institution of higher education in Sofia, Bulgaria. It is the oldest and most renowned school of arts in the country. History The National Academy of Arts was founded in 1896 by noted artists and public figures such as Ivan Mrkvička, Anton Mitov, and sculptor Boris Schatz, as well as men of letters in the likes of Konstantin Velichkov and Ivan Shishmanov. Pleven Panorama
Pleven Epopee 1877, more commonly known as Pleven Panorama, is a panorama located in Pleven, Bulgaria, that depicts the events of the Russo-Turkish War, 1877-78, Russian-Turkish War of 1877–78, specifically the five-month Siege of Plevna (Pleven Epopee) which made the city internationally famous and which contributed to the Liberation of Bulgaria after five centuries of History of Ottoman Bulgaria, Ottoman rule. The panorama was created by 13 Russian and Bulgarian artists and was constructed in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Pleven Epopee and was officially unveiled on 10 December 1977. The panorama expanded the already existing Skobelev Park, which is the site of three of the four major battles which led to the liberation of Bulgaria. In the first three years after its opening, 2.5 million people visited the panorama.
