The Battle of Dinwiddie Court House was fought on March 31, 1865, during the American Civil War at the end of the Richmond-Petersburg Campaign and in the beginning stage of the Appomattox Campaign. Along with the Battle of White Oak Road which was fought simultaneously on March 31, the battle involved the last offensive action by General Robert E. Williamson Site
The Williamson Site is an early prehistoric archaeological site located about 5 miles East of Dinwiddie, Dinwiddie County, Virginia along the south bank of the Little Cattail Creek. It is one of the largest Early Man sites in North America and dated to sometime between 15,000 and 11,500 years Before Present. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969. Burnt Quarter
Burnt Quarter is a historic plantation house located near Dinwiddie, Dinwiddie County, Virginia. It was built in stages starting about 1750, and consists of a two-story, hipped roof central section flanked by -story wings. The Battle of Sutherland's Station was an American Civil War conflict fought on April 2, 1865, in Dinwiddie, Virginia during the Appomattox Campaign.
