Dino And Carlo's Bar
Dino and Carlo's, also known as Dino—Carlo, and Deno and Carlo's, was an American bar and music venue active from 1965 until 1968, and located at 728 Vallejo Street in the North Beach, San Francisco, North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, California. History Dino and Carlo's showcased new musical groups, poets, and artists. Most just in the beginning of their careers and many to later become well known. The performers were never paid, they put a hat on the front of the small stage to earn some compensation for their performance. The clientele included longshoreman and hippies. It was a very small club with a small rectangular stage, which barley fit bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). CCR had a steady weekly gig performing at Dino and Carlo's. North Beach, San Francisco
North Beach is a neighborhood in the northeast of San Francisco adjacent to Chinatown, the Financial District, and Russian Hill. Jerome John Garcia (August 1, 1942 – August 9, 1995) was an American musician best known for being the principal songwriter, lead guitarist, and a vocalist with the rock band Grateful Dead, which he co-founded and which came to prominence during the counterculture of the 1960s. Muir Beach is a census designated place (CDP), unincorporated community, and beach on the Pacific Ocean. The community is located northwest of San Francisco in western Marin County, California, United States. Unlike many other entities in the area, it is not named directly in honor of conservationist John Muir; instead, it was named after Muir Woods National Monument to capitalize on the latter's popularity. The population was 304 at the 2020 census. The community itself flanks the northwest side of the beach. Located about from the entrance to Muir Woods, the beach is about long and wide, with coarse sand and several large boulders. Redwood Creek empties into the beach.
