Hermann Dingler
Hermann Dingler (23 May 1846 – 30 December 1935) was a German physician and botanist. He was a son-in-law of chemist Emil Erlenmeyer and the father of philosopher Hugo Dingler. Dingler was born in Zweibrücken. He studied medicine at the universities of Zürich, Erlangen, Vienna and Munich, then participated in a botanical study trip to Palestine and Asia Minor. Afterwards, he spent a few years working as a military and railway physician in the Turkish service. In 1883 he obtained his habilitation at Munich, then from 1889 to 1910, he taught classes in botany at the Forestry University in Aschaffenburg.Dingler, Hermann

Hugo Dingler
Hugo Albert Emil Hermann Dingler (July 7, 1881, Munich – June 29, 1954, Munich) was a German scientist and philosopher. Life Hugo Dingler studied mathematics, philosophy, and physics with Felix Klein, Hermann Minkowski, David Hilbert, Edmund Husserl, Woldemar Voigt, and Wilhem Roentgen at the universities of Göttingen and Munich. He graduated from the University of Munich with a thesis under Aurel Voss. Dingler earned his Ph.D. in mathematics, physics and astronomy in 1906. His doctoral advisor was Ferdinand von Lindemann. In 1910 Dingler's first attempt to earn a Habilitation failed. His second try in 1912 was successful. Dingler then taught as a Privatdozent and hold lectures on mathematics, philosophy and the history of science. He became a professor at the University of Munich in 1920. Christian Dingler
Christian Dingler (15 February 1802 - 18 December 1858) was the founder of the Dingler manufacturing business at Zweibrücken (subsequently subsumed into Terex Cranes Germany) and the Creator of the Dingler Press. Life Christian Wilhelm Nikolaus Dingler was born in Zweibrücken, which at the time had recently been annexed into France. After leaving school Dingler embarked upon an apprenticeship at his father's metal working business. By the time he completed his training his apprenticeship had included periods working both at home and abroad. In 1827 he founded the "Dinglerwerk" business, employing ten people at a premises in the old town centre, producing oil mills, sawmills and, in particular, hand-operated printing presses. Dingler invented a form of Toggle press which he called the "Zweibrücker-press" but which became known as the "Dingler Press".
