Dimna Lake
Dimna Lake is an artificial reservoir located near Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, 15 km from the city of Jamshedpur in the state of Jharkhand. Constructed in 1944, by Tata Steel to deal with the water scarcity in the city. Geography Dimna Lake is situated at the foot of Dalma Hills. Dimna Lake covers about 5.5 km2, around 1,861 acres were acquired under the Land Acquisition Act of 1894 for the dam. The Lake is the only source of drinking water for Jamshedpur town. The lake is near to the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary. It is about 100 km from the capital city Ranchi, and 15 km from the steel city Jamshedpur. The total storage capacity of Dimna Lake is about 120 lakh cubic feet. The spread of water in the lake is approximately two square miles. The lake is 3 and a half miles long and about a mile wide. Boram block is a CD block that forms an administrative division in the Dhalbhum subdivision of East Singhbhum district, in the Indian state of Jharkhand. History The laying of the foundation stone of the steel plant by Tata Steel (then known as Tata Iron and Steel Company) in 1907 at Sakchi Kalimati in Singhbhum district marked the beginning of the industrialisation of the area. The first police station in the area was opened in 1912 at Jugsalai. The Kalimati Sakchi village was renamed ‘ Jamshedpur’ in 1917. Rankini Mandir, also known as Kapadgadi Ghat Rankini Mandir is a temple situated in Rohinibera village of Bansila Gram Panchayat in Potka block, near Jadugora, Jamshedpur in Jharkhand in India. Jubilee Park is an urban park located in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. It is a popular destination for all those who wish to have an outdoor picnic, enjoy some outdoor activities and games or even just to have a relaxing day out with friends and family. Tata Steel Zoological Park
Tata Steel Zoological Park (TSZP) is situated in a corner of Jubilee Park, Jamshedpur. TSZP is a recognized 'Medium' category Zoo by the Central Zoo Authority (CZA). The CZA evaluates Zoos on periodic basis and stipulates conditions for their improvement. TSZP has been evaluated by CZA at periodic intervals and major recommendations to meet the prescribed standards are creation of a veterinary hospital with postmortem room and incinerator, shifting of animal enclosures, separate entry and exit gates for visiting public, strengthening perimeter wall etc. CZA had approved the new layout plan of the Zoological Park in July 2020.
