Dimitris Cheilaris
Dimitris Cheilaris ( el, Δημήτρης Χείλαρης, ; born August 18, 1990) is a Greek professional basketball player who last played for Charilaos Trikoupis of the Greek A2 Basket League. Born in Leonidio, he started his professional career with Amyntas. Subsequently, he moved to Filathlitikos, where he was a teammate with Giannis Antetokounmpo. He played one season of top-tier basketball with Rethymno BC, before returning to the second-tier to play for Iraklis Thessaloniki. He has represented Greece at youth level and has won the bronze medal in the 2015 World Military Basketball Championship. Professional career Cheilaris started playing basketball in ''Leonidio BC'', the team of his hometown. In 2011 he transferred to Amyntas of the Greek A2, thus starting his professional career. In 2012 he moved to Filathlitikos, playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo. In his first season with the team he only appeared in 8 games averaging 4.9 points and 2 rebounds per game. ... Gymnasticos Syllogos Iraklis ( el, Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος Ηρακλής, en, Gymnastics Club Heracles), commonly referred to as Iraklis, is a Greek multi-sports club based in Thessaloniki. The club was founded in 1908 as "Macedonikos Gymnasticos Syllogos" (''Macedonian Gymnastics Club'') and is one of the oldest and most historic sports-clubs in Greece. It is named after Heracles, the mythical Greek demigod. Their colours are blue or cyan and white, inspired by the Greek flag. Greek Basket League
The Greek Basket League (GBL), often also referred to as the Greek A1 Basketball League, or Greek Basketball Championship (originally called Panhellenic Basketball Championship), and also known as the Stoiximan Basket League for sponsorship reasons, is the first tier level professional basketball league in Greece. It is run by HEBA ( el, ΕΣΑΚΕ, link=no), under the legal authority of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). It is the highest-tier level of the Greek league system. The GBL plays under FIBA rules and currently consists of 13 teams, with the lowest-placed team relegated to the A2 Basket League and replaced by the winner of the play-offs of that tier. It runs from October to June, with teams playing 22 games each during the regular season, and the top 8 teams then competing in the playoffs. The Hellenic Basketball Federation ( el, Ελληνική Ομοσπονδία Καλαθοσφαίρισης, abbreviated as Ε.Ο.Κ.) is the main basketball governing body for the sport in Greece.
