Dillinger Four, sometimes abbreviated as D4, is an American punk rock band formed in 1994 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They have released four full-length studio albums. History The group was formed 1994 by guitarist Erik Funk and bassist Patrick Costello. The pair originally played together in a short lived but much beloved hardcore band from Chicago called Angerhouse. Angerhouse broke up after Funk moved to Minneapolis for college. When Costello later followed, Dillinger Four was born. ''Civil War'' (stylized as ''C I V I L W A R'') is the fourth album by the Minneapolis, Minnesota punk rock band Dillinger Four, released on October 14, 2008, by Fat Wreck Chords. It is the band's second album for the label, following 2002's ''Situationist Comedy''. Its recording and production took place over several years, and its release date was pushed back several times. An early internet leak of the album was the source of some controversy. Recording and delayed release Dillinger Four had announced as early as June 2006 that ''Civil War'' would be released on October 31 of that year. However that August they amended the expected release date to March 2007. In November 2006 drummer Lane Pederson stated that the band were "working at D4 speed on a new record. First Avenue (nightclub)
First Avenue & 7th St Entry are two historic music venues housed in the same landmark building in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The nightclub sits on the corner of First Avenue North and 7th Street North, from which the venues get their names. The two are colloquially distinguished by locals as The Mainroom and The Entry. The building was constructed in 1937 as the Minneapolis depot of the Greyhound Lines bus system and operated for 31 years. John Herbert Dillinger (June 22, 1903 – July 22, 1934) was an American gangster during the Great Depression. He led the Dillinger Gang, which was accused of robbing 24 banks and four police stations. Dillinger was imprisoned several times and escaped twice. He was charged with but not convicted of the murder of an East Chicago, Indiana, police officer, who shot Dillinger in his bullet-proof vest during a shootout; it was the only time Dillinger was charged with homicide. Dillinger courted publicity. The media ran exaggerated accounts of his bravado and colorful personality, and cast him as a Robin Hood. In response, J.
