Dilana Smith (born Dilana Jansen van Vuuren; 10 August 1972) is a South African singer, songwriter, and performer who lives in Los Angeles, California. She is best known as the runner-up contestant on the CBS reality television show '' Rock Star: Supernova''. She was the lead singer for Tracii Guns' version of L.A. Guns for a brief period in 2011. Biography Dilana Jansen van Vuuren was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on 10 August 1972. Her surname changed to Smith when she was about two years old, when her mother married her stepfather, and he adopted her. Dilana used singing as an escape from an unpleasant home scene, participating in school choir competitions and festivals, as well as church choir and fondue parties. When the opportunity presented itself, Dilana dropped everything and started performing full-time, from a travelling duo, to a mixture of bands in South Africa and the Netherlands. Wonderfool (album)
''Wonderfool'' is an album by Rock Star: Supernova runner-up Dilana released in 2000 under the alias Dilana Smith. It was relatively successful; three of the five released singles successfully charted in The Netherlands. With the exception of the track Wonderfool, the album's sound is lighter than what Dilana showcased on Rock Star: Supernova and her more recent work. The album was re-released in 2006, following Dilana's appearance on Rock Star: Supernova. Dilana has stated that she does not make any financial benefit from sales from this album. Because it did not sell enough when originally released, all the proceeds go to Red Bullet. Guðmundur Magni Ásgeirsson (born 1 December 1978 in Egilsstaðir, Iceland), known professionally as Magni Ásgeirsson, is a singer, songwriter, and musician. Gilbert J. "Gilby" Clarke (born August 17, 1962) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He had a 3-year tenure as the rhythm guitarist of Guns N' Roses, replacing Izzy Stradlin in 1991 during the Use Your Illusion Tour, and also featured on '' "The Spaghetti Incident?"'' (1993). Robert Alan Deal (born May 4, 1951), known professionally as Mick Mars, is an American musician and the retired lead guitarist and co-founder of the heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. ''Rock Star'' is a television series produced by Mark Burnett, David Geffen, Lisa Hennessy, and Al Berman in which aspiring singers from around the world competed to become the lead singer of a featured group.
