Diggy Simmons
Daniel Dwayne "Diggy" Simmons III (born March 21, 1995) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, model, and actor and the fourth child of Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons of Run DMC. He is currently acting on the hit show ''Grown-ish'' as Doug Edwards, a student at Cal U. He, along with his parents and five siblings, were the primary subjects of the MTV reality television show ''Run's House''. Diggy was also the youngest member of Lupe Fiasco's short-lived rap collective, All City Chess Club. Music career Music beginnings Diggy Simmons released his debut mixtape, ''The First Flight'', in 2009. More than 100,000 people downloaded the album from Simmons' blog. Mobb Deep was an American hip hop duo from New York City. The duo consisted of rappers Prodigy and Havoc. They are considered to be among the principal progenitors of hardcore East Coast hip hopEdwards, Paul, 2009, ''How to Rap: The Art & Science of the Hip-Hop MC'', Chicago Review Press, p. 323. and hip hop in the mid-1990s. Mobb Deep became one of the most successful rap duos of all time, having sold over three million records. "Shook Ones" (later also known as "Shook Ones, Part I") is a 1994 promotional single by hip-hop group Mobb Deep. The song was the group's debut on Loud Records after being dropped from their previous label, 4th & B'way Records. A sequel titled " Shook Ones, Pt. II" was the first official single of the group's second album, ''The Infamous''. "Shook Ones" was featured on the b-side, retitled "Shook Ones Pt. I." The cut eventually made its way on the International version of the group's album '' Hell on Earth''. William Michael Griffin Jr. (born January 28, 1968), better known by his stage name Rakim Allah or simply Rakim (), is an American rapper and record producer. One half of golden age hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential and skilled MCs of all time. Rakim is considered a transformational figure in hip hop for raising the bar for MC technique higher than it had ever been. Sampling (music)
In sound and music, sampling is the reuse of a portion (or sample) of a sound recording in another recording. Samples may comprise elements such as rhythm, melody, speech, sounds or entire bars of music, and may be layered, equalized, sped up or slowed down, repitched, looped, or otherwise manipulated. They are usually integrated using hardware ( samplers) or software such as digital audio workstations. A process similar to sampling originated in the 1940s with '' musique concrète'', experimental music created by splicing and looping tape. The mid-20th century saw the introduction of keyboard instruments that played sounds recorded on tape, such as the Mellotron.
