The 1980 Summer Olympics (russian: Летние Олимпийские игры 1980, Letniye Olimpiyskiye igry 1980), officially known as the Games of the XXII Olympiad (russian: Игры XXII Олимпиады, Igry XXII Olimpiady) and commonly known as Moscow 1980 (russian: link=no, Москва 1980), were an international multi-sport event held from 19 July to 3 August 1980 in Moscow, Soviet Union, in present-day Russia. Shamil Altaevich Sabirov (russian: Шамиль Алтаевич Сабиров; born 4 April 1959) is a retired Russian light-flyweight boxer. He won gold medals at the 1979 European Championships and 1980 Olympics, becoming the only boxing champion from the Soviet Union at the Moscow Olympics.
