Diego Salazar
Diego Fernando Salazar Quintero (born 3 October 1980) is a Colombian weightlifter, Olympic medalist and two times gold medal winner at the Pan American Games. He was born in Baranquilla. Salazar participated in the men's -62 kg class at the 2006 World Weightlifting Championships and won the bronze medal, finishing behind Qiu Le and Oscar Figueroa. He snatched 131 kg and clean and jerked an additional 164 kg for a total of 295 kg, 13 kg behind winner Qiu. He ranked sixth in the 62 kg category at the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships, lifting a total of 293 kg. Clean And Jerk
The clean and jerk is a composite of two weightlifting movements, most often performed with a barbell: the clean and the jerk. During the ''clean'', the lifter moves the barbell from the floor to a racked position across the deltoids, without resting fully on the clavicles. During the ''jerk'', the lifter raises the barbell to a stationary position above the head, finishing with straight arms and legs, and the feet in the same plane as the torso and barbell. Of the several variants of the lift, the most common is the Olympic clean and jerk, which, with the snatch, is contested in Olympic weightlifting events. Snatch (weightlifting)
The snatch is the first of two lifts contested in the sport of weightlifting (also known as Olympic weightlifting) followed by the clean and jerk. The objective of the snatch is to lift the barbell from the ground to overhead in one continuous motion. There are four main styles of snatch used: snatch (or full snatch), split snatch, power snatch, and muscle snatch. The full lift is the most common style used in competition, while power snatches and muscle snatches are mostly used for training purposes, and split snatches are rarely used. Any of these lifts can be performed from the floor, from the hang position, or from blocks. In competition, only lifts from the floor are allowed. Óscar Figueroa (weightlifter)
Oscar Albeiro Figueroa Mosquera (born 27 April 1983) is a Colombian weightlifter, and Olympic Champion (gold-medalist) competing in the 62 kg category until 2018 and 67 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories. He was born in the rural township of Zaragoza, located in Cartago, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. He initially retired from the sport after the 2016 Summer Olympics, but has returned to international competition and has competed at the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships. He formally announced his retirement again in November 2019.
