Diego Montiel (footballer, Born 1995)
Diego Nicolas Montiel (born 26 April 1995) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder. Club career Montiel had youth spells with IK Franke and Västerås SK, he made his first-team debut with the latter on 7 July 2012 in a Division 1 Norra match against Östersund. In 2013, Montiel joined Allsvenskan club IF Brommapojkarna. He was named on the substitutes bench twice for the club's 2014–15 UEFA Europa League first qualifying round ties against VPS. After not appearing for the club's senior team he left and rejoined Västerås SK in 2014. He went onto score three goals in thirteen fixtures during the 2014 Division 1 season. In January 2015, Montiel completed a transfer to fellow Division 1 Norra team Dalkurd FF. He participated in twenty-four games in his debut season with them as they won promotion to the 2016 Superettan. Superettan (; meaning the super first (division)) is an association football league and the second highest league in the league system of Swedish men's football. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Allsvenskan and Division 1. Seasons run from April to October, with teams playing 30 matches each, totalling 240 matches in the season. The league was created in 2000. The second tier of Swedish football had previously consisted of a varying number of regionalized leagues operating under the Division 2 (1924–1986) and Division 1 (1987–1999) names. Svenska Cupen (, ''The Swedish Cup'') is a knockout cup competition in Swedish football and the main Swedish football cup. Svenska Cupen usually refers to the men's tournament, although a women's tournament is also held. Each year 96 teams compete, comprising the 16 teams from Allsvenskan and the 16 teams of Superettan together with 64 teams from lower tiers of the league system. The winners qualify for the qualifying stages of the UEFA Europa League. The winner is awarded Gustaf VI Adolf Cup.
