Diego Barreto (comics)
Diego Daniel Barreto Cáceres (born 16 July 1981) is a Paraguayan former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Diego is the brother of fellow Paraguayan footballer Édgar Barreto. Career Barreto started his career with the club Cerro Porteño, where he was trained by Modesto Sandoval and was teammates with Aldo Bobadilla. He developed in the youth divisions of Cerro. Barreto was part of the silver medal-winning Paraguay national team in the 2004 Olympics. Paraguay booked a quarter-final place with two victories in the qualifying group. The squad finished first, and then beat South Korea in the quarter-finals and Iraq in the semi-finals, before losing to Argentina in the final. In 2007, Barreto had a spell with Newell's Old Boys in Argentina, but failed to break into the first team, returning to Paraguay in January 2008. The Paraguay national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Paraguay) represents Paraguay in men's international football competitions, and are controlled by the Paraguayan Football Association (Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol). Paraguay is a member of CONMEBOL. The Portugal national under-23 football team (also known as Portugal Olympic football team) represents Portugal in international football competitions (final stage and qualifiers) in Olympic Games, as well as in under–23 football tournaments. Aldo Bobadilla
Aldo Antonio Bobadilla Ávalos (born 20 April 1976) is a Paraguayan retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He was most recently manager of Independiente Medellín and Paraguay's U-20 team. Career Club Bobadilla started his career at Paraguayan club Cerro Porteño already in the junior league, he was trained by Modesto Sandoval that is how he got the skills to play in the pro team some years later, then moved to Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata of Argentina. He returned to Paraguay to play for Club Libertad until mid-2006, when he signed for Argentine Boca Juniors. Though he started the last season as the first-choice goalkeeper for Boca Juniors, he lost his place to Caranta after his rival's good performances in friendly matches. Modesto Sandoval (born 12 February 1941) is a Paraguayan former goalkeeper. He now lives in Luque and he is the goalkeeper trainer for Cerro Porteño. Professional career He initiated his career in the Club Sportivo Luqueño from 1960 to 1964 having a lot of spectacular saves when he played for the inferiors and a good future for his career. After his great reputation in Luque he was sent to the Club Nacional neighbourhood of Barrio Obrero (Asunción) from 1965 to 1968. Then he passed to Venezuela in the Club Deportivo Galicia from 1969 to 1972 where he won his first title. After his good saves and unmatchable skills he was bought and transferred to the Deportivo Italia where he just played on the year of 1973 and won his second title.
