He is an intellectual writer at the crossroads of the arts, politics, and popular culture, pop culture. Diedrich Henne (1834 – 21 January 1913) was a German-born botanist and plant collector. He emigrated to Australia and was employed as an assistant to the colonial botanist Ferdinand von Mueller at the Melbourne Herbarium. Henne was one of a number of influential German-speaking residents such as William Blandowski, Ludwig Becker, Hermann Beckler, Amalie Dietrich, Gerard Krefft, Johann Luehmann, Johann Menge, Ludwig Preiss, Carl Ludwig Christian Rümker (a.k.a. Diedrich Hermann Westermann (June 24, 1875 – May 31, 1956) was a German missionary, Africanist, and linguist. He substantially extended and revised the work of Carl Meinhof, his teacher, although he rejected some of Meinhof's theories only implicitly. Westermann is seen as one of the founders of modern African linguistics. He carried out extensive linguistic and anthropological research in the area ranging from Senegal eastwards to the Upper Nile. His linguistic publications cover a wide range of African languages, including the Gbe languages, Nuer, Kpelle, Shilluk, Hausa, and Guang. Diedrich Uhlhorn (3 June 1764 – 1837) was a German engineer, mechanic and inventor. Life Uhlhorn was an engineer, mechanic and inventor, who invented in 1817 the first mechanical tachometer. Diedrich Wattenberg
Diedrich Wattenberg (13 June 1909 – 26 November 1996) was a German astronomer. He was a prolific populariser, writer and speaker on his subject, becoming in the 1950s a familiar presence on radio and, later, television programmes. Life Wattenburg was born in a downstream suburb of Bremen during the first decade of the twentieth century. His father was a coppersmith. For economic reasons there was no possibility of his attending a secondary school, and he therefore trained for work as a government official. A decisive experience came in 1924 when Wattenburg attended a presentation by the writer Bruno H. Bürgel who was reading extracts from his autobiography: Bürgel's autobiography was entitled "Von Arbeiter zum Astronomen" (''"From workers to astronomers"''). Friedrich Diedrich (5 October 1935 – 7 October 2015) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and Old Testament scholar. He lived in Buer. Life Born in Hannover in 1935, Diedrich obtained priesthood on 26 July 1962. He studied philosophy and Catholic theology in Paderborn, Innsbruck and Bonn. From 1972 to 2015, he was the assistant to Lothar Ruppert at the Ruhr University in Bochum, he earned a doctorate in the Old Testament. In the same compartment habilitation he in 1985 and was a lecturer at the University of Freiburg. He had, until 1985, the Acting Chair, and then the full professorship for "Biblical Theology - Old Testament" at the University of Osnabrück.
