Die Trying (album)
''Die Trying'' is the only studio album by rock band Die Trying. It was released through Island Records on June 10, 2003. That year, Die Trying toured with the likes of Andrew W.K. and Hoobastank in promotion of the album. Single "Oxygen's Gone" served as the album's only single. Its music video found significant airplay on Fuse TV and MTV2 during the summer of 2003. The band is seen performing in the city along with shots of young men freerunning across urban buildings and structures. Hoobastank vocalist Doug Robb, also employed by Island Records, makes a brief cameo appearance in a car that's leaped over by one of the men. Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach makes a cameo appearance in the video as well. MTV2 (formerly M2) is an American pay television Cable television, channel owned by the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global. The channel launched initially as an all-music video service, once the original MTV had started to shift its programming. As with its parent network, MTV2's focus on music programming would gradually be downplayed during the 2000s. By 2011, MTV2 would primarily target young adult men with original and acquired lifestyle and reality programming, reruns of male-targeting shows from MTV, acquired sitcoms and movies, and a daily block of Hip hop music, hip hop and Rock music, rock genre videos in the early mornings. Papa Roach is an American rock band from Vacaville, California, formed in 1993. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Jacoby Shaddix, guitarist Jerry Horton, drummer Dave Buckner, bassist Will James, and trombonist Ben Luther. Jacoby Dakota Shaddix (born July 28, 1976) is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, TV presenter and actor. He is best known as the founding member and the continuous lead singer of the California-based rock band Papa Roach since the band's formation in 1993. Shaddix served as the host of the MTV show ''Scarred (TV series), Scarred'' for the entirety of the show's cycle, presenting both seasons and all 20 episodes of the show, which spanned from April 10 to September 18, 2007. Shaddix would ultimately leave the show due to touring demands with Papa Roach. The name of the show was based on the Papa Roach song "Scars (Papa Roach song), Scars".
