Richard Ramsdale (birth registered second ¼ 1885 – 8 June 1933) was an English professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1900s, 1910s and 1920s. Wigan ( ) is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, on the River Douglas, Lancashire, River Douglas. The town is midway between the two cities of Manchester, to the south-east, and Liverpool, to the south-west. Bolton lies to the north-east and Warrington to the south. Weaste () is a suburb in the City of Salford, Greater Manchester, England. In 2014, Weaste and Seedley ward had a population of 12,616. History Historically in Lancashire, it is an industrial area, with many industrial estates. The A57 (Eccles New Road) passes through Weaste, which lies close to the M602 motorway. The 1912–13 Northern Rugby Football Union season was the 18th season of rugby league football. Season summary Huddersfield ended the regular season as league leaders and then defeated Wigan 29-2 in the play-off final to win their second Championship in as many seasons. The Challenge Cup Winners were Huddersfield who defeated Warrington 9-5. Ebbw Vale dropped out. Matches between Wakefield Trinity and Coventry, and Bramley and York were cancelled. Huddersfield's Australian Albert Rosenfeld broke his own record of 76 tries in a season which he set last year by scoring 80 this season. The Australasian rugby league team represented Australia and New Zealand in rugby league sporadically between 1910 and 1922. Administered by the New South Wales Rugby League, appearances for the team were counted towards the Australian team's records and playing register but not the New Zealand team's. 1910 Great Britain Lions Tour Of Australia And New Zealand
The 1910 Great Britain Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand was the first international tour of the Great Britain national rugby league team, "The Lions". They played the second ever Ashes series against Australia, and their first as the visiting team, before travelling to Auckland to take on New Zealand. The tour was a huge promotional and financial success for what was then known as the "Northern Union" game and helped set the pattern for regular, alternating test match series between Britain and Australia. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. The 1909–10 Northern Rugby Football Union season was the 15th season of rugby league football. Season summary Aberdare, Barry and Mid-Rhondda had dropped out, leaving 28 teams. Oldham won their second Championship this season. After finishing top of the regular season table, they went on to beat Wigan 13-7 in the play-off final. The Challenge Cup Winners were Leeds who defeated Hull F.C. 26-12 in replay after a 7-7 draw. At the close of the season, the Northern Union's leading players were selected to go on the 1910 Great Britain Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand.
