Dick Lamby
Richard A. Lamby (born May 3, 1955) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played 22 National Hockey League regular season games with the St. Louis Blues in 1978-80 but spent most of his career in the minor leagues. As an amateur he played for the US team in the 1976 Winter Olympics as well as the Salem State University and Boston University men's hockey team in the early 1970s. Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone).
