Oromo ( or ; Oromo: ''Afaan Oromoo''), in the linguistic literature of the early 20th century also called Galla (a name with a pejorative meaning and therefore rejected by the Oromo people), is an Afroasiatic language that belongs to the Cushitic branch. Tirunesh Dibaba ( om, Xirunesh Dibaabaa, Amharic: ጥሩነሽ ዲባባ ቀነኒ; born 1 June 1985) is an Ethiopian athlete who competed in long-distance track events and international road races. She has won three Olympic track gold medals, five World Championship track gold medals, four individual World Cross Country (WCC) adult titles, and one individual WCC junior title. Ejegayehu Dibaba
Ejegayehu Dibaba Keneni ( om, Ijigaayoo Dibaabaa; Amharic: እጅጋዬሁ ዲባባ); born 21 March 1982, in Bekoji) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. She won the silver medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Ejegayehu earned bronze medals for the 5000 metres and 10,000 m at the 2005 World Championships in Athletics. She took gold medals in the 10,000 m at the 2003 Afro-Asian Games and All-Africa Games. Ejegayehu comes from a sporting family of several Olympic medalists, which includes her sisters Tirunesh and Genzebe, and her cousin Derartu Tulu. Career Ejegayehu Dibaba is an Ethiopian long-distance runner from the high-altitude Arsi Zone of the Oromia Region. She is the third child of six. Genzebe Dibaba
Genzebe Dibaba Keneni (Oromo language, Oromo: ''Ganzabee Dibaabaa Qananii''; Amharic: ገንዘቤ ዲባባ ቀነኒ; born 8 February 1991) is an Ethiopian Middle-distance running, middle- and Long-distance running, long-distance runner. A 1500 metres Athletics at the Summer Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympics silver medalist, she won a gold medal in this event and a bronze in the 5000 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics, 2015 World Championships. Genzebe is the current world record holder for the 1500m, and the indoor events of the Mile run, one mile, 3000 metres, 3000m and 5000m. She holds the distinction of possessing the most world records by one woman in track history, with her current haul of four, plus two world bests. Mare Dibaba
Mare Dibaba Hurrsa (born 20 October 1989) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. She won the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing. Dibaba is not related to track Olympic champion and world record holder Tirunesh Dibaba. Biography Her first high-profile outing came at the Ethiopian 20 km championships in 2007 and she took sixth place, running for Oromia Police. She made her international debut at the 2008 Udine Half Marathon and the eighteen-year-old ran a personal best of 1:10:32 hours for second place behind Anikó Kálovics. Her next run came in November at the New Delhi Half Marathon, where she finished in eighth place but slightly improved her time to 1:10:28. Mare briefly transferred to compete for Azerbaijan in 2009, running under the name ''Mare Ibrahimova'', but after she was revealed to be overage for the European Athletics Junior Championships she returned to compete for her country of birth.
