''Diary'' is the second studio album by the collaboration of Mike Skinner and Robert Harvey as The D.O.T. It was released on 6 May 2013 by Cooking Vinyl Records. Release On 1 March 2013, it was announced the D.O.T. was releasing their second studio album ''Diary'' for release on 6 May 2013. The first single "How We All Lie" was released on 4 March 2013. The second single "Blood, Sweat and Tears" was released on 6 May 2013. The third single "Left at the Lights" was released on 15 July 2013. Critical reception ''Diary'' was met with "mixed or average" reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, this release received an average score of 54 based on 7 reviews. Cooking Vinyl is a British independent record label, based in Acton, London, England, founded in 1986 by former manager and booking agent Martin Goldschmidt and business partner Pete Lawrence. Goldschmidt remains the current owner and chairman, while Rob Collins is managing director. The company focuses on artist service-based deals where the artist retains ownership of their copyrights. Robert Harvey (musician)
Robert Harvey (born 21 May 1983) is an English singer, musician, DJ and songwriter. He is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of The Music and has since written hits such as Real Love (Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne song), "Real Love" for Clean Bandit/Jess Glynne, "Lonely" for Joel Corry (and Harlee) and "Head and Heart" for Joel Corry/MNEK. In 2021 he joined Kasabian as a touring vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. Music career 2001–2011: The Music Harvey formed The Music with close friends Adam Nutter, Stuart Coleman and Phil Jordan in 2001. Stuart Coleman
The Music are an English alternative rock band, formed in Kippax, Leeds in 1999. Comprising Robert Harvey (vocals, guitar), Adam Nutter (lead guitar), Stuart Coleman (bass) and Phil Jordan (drums), the band came to prominence with the release of their self-titled debut album in 2002. The band released two further studio albums, '' Welcome to the North'' (2004) and ''Strength in Numbers'' (2008), before parting ways in 2011. Career The Music all met at Brigshaw High School (except Phil Jordan, who went to Garforth), and began playing in 1999 as Insense. In 2001, the song " Take the Long Road and Walk It" circulated as a demo before being released by Fierce Panda as a 1000-copies-only single, a rarity from its day of release. Weighted Arithmetic Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. The notion of weighted mean plays a role in descriptive statistics and also occurs in a more general form in several other areas of mathematics. Mike Skinner (musician)
Michael Geoffrey Skinner (born 27 November 1979) is an English rapper, singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. Best known for the music project the Streets, Skinner has also released music as a solo artist, as part of the D.O.T. with frequent collaborator Rob Harvey, and under the pseudonym The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light. Early life Skinner was born in Barnet, but grew up in West Heath, Birmingham. He started playing with keyboards at the tender age of five. When he was seven years old he began experiencing symptoms of epilepsy, which worsened in his early teens. He began writing hip hop and garage music in his home in West Heath and later built a sound booth in his bedroom, using a cupboard and a mattress.
