Dianne Yates
Dianne Fae Yates (born 29 November 1943) is a New Zealand politician. She is a member of the Labour Party. Member of Parliament Yates first entered Parliament in the 1993 election, representing the Hamilton East electorate. In the 1996 election, she was defeated in Hamilton East by National's Tony Steel, but remained in Parliament as a list MP. She recaptured Hamilton East again in the 2002 election by a majority of 614 votes. However, in the 2005 election she lost the seat to National's David Bennett by a significant 5,298 votes, and again became a list MP. In August 2007, she announced that she would retire from Parliament by the end of the year in order to stand for the Hamilton City Council. This she did, but she was unsuccessful, finishing 7th. She was expected to be replaced by Louisa Wall, the next candidate on Labour's list, but Wall entered parliament as a replacement for Ann Hartley. Hamilton East is a New Zealand parliamentary electorate. It is currently held by Jamie Strange MP of the Labour Party. Population centres Since the , the number of electorates in the South Island was fixed at 25, with continued faster population growth in the North Island leading to an increase in the number of general electorates. There were 84 electorates for the 1969 election, and the 1972 electoral redistribution saw three additional general seats created for the North Island, bringing the total number of electorates to 87. Ann Hartley
Margaret Ann Hartley (born 1942) is a former New Zealand member of parliament, a former mayor of North Shore City, and a member of the Labour Party. Early years Hartley was born in 1942 in the town of Warkworth. Before entering politics, she was a real estate agent. From 1980 to 1986 she was a member of the Birkenhead City Council, a member of the Child Abuse Prevention Society from 1983 to 1986 and a member of the Auckland Education Board 1984 to 1989. Louisa Wall
Louisa Hareruia Wall (born 17 February 1972) is a former New Zealand Labour Party politician who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from 2011 to 2022. She has represented New Zealand in both netball as a Silver Fern and rugby union as a member of the Black Ferns. In late March 2022, Wall announced that she would resign from Parliament.
