Diana McQueen
Diana Janet McQueen (born June 7, 1961) is a Canadians, Canadian politician, who was elected in the 2008 Alberta general election, 2008 provincial election to represent the electoral district (Canada), electoral district of Drayton Valley-Calmar in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta as a member of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta, Progressive Conservative caucus. She served in several cabinet positions from 2011 to 2015. After Alison Redford won the 2011 Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta leadership election, 2011 Progressive Conservative Leadership Convention, McQueen was sworn in during the final session of the 27th Alberta Legislative Assembly as the Alberta Minister of Environment and Water. Drayton Valley
Drayton Valley is a town in central Alberta, Canada. It is located on Alberta Highway 22, Highway 22 (Cowboy Trail), approximately southwest of Edmonton. It is surrounded by Brazeau County, known for its vast petroleum, oil fields. The town is located between the North Saskatchewan River and the Pembina River (Alberta), Pembina River. The town was named after Drayton, Hampshire, the birthplace of the wife of one of the Alberta town's postmasters. History Prior to the 1953 oil boom, the community of Drayton Valley was sparsely populated. The main economic activities were farming and logging. Drayton Valley was incorporated as a village in 1956 and officially became a town in 1957. In 1955 a ferry was built to cross the North Saskatchewan River. The Ministry of Energy is a Cabinet-level agency of the government of the Canadian province of Alberta responsible for coordinating policy relating to the development of mineral and energy resources. It is also responsible for assessing and collecting non-renewable resource (NRR) royalties, freehold mineral taxes, rentals, and bonuses. Municipal elections were held in Alberta, Canada on Monday, October 15, 2007. Since 1968, provincial legislation has required every municipality to hold triennial elections. Mayors ( reeves), councillors (aldermen), and trustees were elected to office in 15 of the 16 cities, all 111 towns, all 99 villages, all 4 specialized municipalities, all 64 municipal districts, 3 of the 7 improvement districts, and the advisory councils of the 3 special areas.
