Diana Luna
Diana Luna (born 3 September 1982) is a professional golfer from Italy. Luna was born in Rome, Italy and turned professional in 2001. She won her first event on the Ladies European Tour in 2004 at the Tenerife Ladies Open, beating Becky Brewerton down the stretch. After winless years in 2005-2008, Luna won two events back-to-back in the summer of 2009 for her second and third wins. Those two wins gave Luna a spot on the 2009 Solheim Cup European team. Luna won the 2011 Unicredit Ladies German Open with a score of 264, 24-under-par. She played all four rounds without any bogies and create a new record for woman in golf history. At the 2018 Mediterranean Games, Luna won a silver medal in the women's team competition. The Women's Open (originally known as the Women's British Open, and still widely referred to by that name outside the UK) is a women's major golf championships, major championship in Professional golf tours#Women's tours, women's professional golf. The Women's Irish Open is a professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour (LET), held in the Republic of Ireland. The tournament became part of the LET schedule in 1994 and ran for ten editions through 2003. After a four-year hiatus, the tournament was revived again in 2008 as part of the buildup to the 2011 Solheim Cup, scheduled for late September at Killeen Castle in County Meath. Killeen Castle hosted the Ladies Irish Open in early August, the week following the Women's British Open. The 2018 European Golf Team Championships was a golf tournament played in August 2018 at Gleneagles, Scotland. It was the inaugural event and consisted of three competitions – men's, women's and mixed team format. 16 two-player teams took part in both men's and women's competitions. Solheim Cup
The Solheim Cup is a biennial golf tournament for professional women golfers contested by teams representing Europe and the United States. It is named after the Norwegian-American golf club manufacturer Karsten Solheim, who was a driving force behind its creation. The inaugural Cup was held in 1990, and the event was first staged in even numbered years until 2002, alternating years with the Ryder Cup (the equivalent men's event). As part of the general reshuffling of team golf events after the one-year postponement of the 2001 Ryder Cup following the September 11 attacks, the Solheim Cup switched to odd numbered years beginning in 2003. The 2001 European Ladies' Team Championship took place in 10–14 July at Campo de Golf de Meis in the province of Pontevedra, . It was the 22nd women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. The European Ladies' Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for women organised by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1959. It was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format Currently, the championship is contested by up to 20 teams, each of 6 players. The format consists of two rounds of strokeplay, out of which the five lowest scores from each team's six players will count each day.
