The Division of Diamond Valley was an Australian Electoral Division in Victoria. The division was created in 1969 and abolished in 1984. It was named for the Diamond Creek area. It was located in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, including Doncaster, Watsonia, Eltham and Templestowe. The Shire of Diamond Valley was a local government area about northeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of , and existed from 1964 until 1994. History The name relates to the lowlands to the west of Diamond Creek, a tributary of the Yarra River, which flows through nearby Eltham. The Diamond Valley can be defined in geographical terms as the area bounded by the Plenty River, the Yarra, the Christmas Hills ridge to the east and the Great Dividing Range to the north. Diamond Valley is a town in the Calgary Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada within Foothills County. It is at the intersection of Highway 22 (Cowboy Trail) and Highway 7. It was established through the provincially approved amalgamation of the former towns of Black Diamond and Turner Valley on January 1, 2023. History Black Diamond and Turner Valley incorporated as villages on May 8, 1929 and February 23, 1930 respectively. After nearly 26 years as a village, Black Diamond incorporated as a town on January 1, 1956. Turner Valley incorporated as a town on September 1, 1977 after 47 years of village status. The thought of amalgamating the towns of Black Diamond and Turner Valley first surfaced in the mid-1980s. Diamond Valley Lake
Diamond Valley Lake is a man-made off-stream reservoir located near Hemet, California, United States. It is one of the largest reservoirs in Southern California and also one of the newest. With a capacity of , the lake nearly doubled the area's surface water storage capacity and provides additional water supplies for drought, peak summer, and emergency needs. The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) began the $1.9 billion construction project in 1995. Filling of the lake, by way of the Colorado River Aqueduct, began in 1999 and was completed in 2003. The lake is currently served by the Inland Feeder. The lake features three earth fill dams, two located on either side of the valley and one on the north rim. Diamond Valley United Soccer Club is a soccer club based in Greensborough, Victoria, Australia. Greensborough SC played at Willinda Park, Greensborough, until 1986 when that ground became dedicated to athletics. The local members then joined Heidelberg-Bundoora to create Diamond Valley United Soccer Club. Notably, Eltham SC also merged with the club in 1989. The Northern Football Netball League (formerly known as the Diamond Valley Football League and later Northern Football League) is an Australian sports league based in the Diamond Valley region of suburban Melbourne, Victoria. The league regulates competitions of both sports, Australian rules football and netball in the region.
