Dhunat Upazila ( bn, ধুনট উপজেলা) is an upazila of Bogra District in the Division of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Dhunat Thana was established in 1962 and was converted into an upazila in 1983. It is named after its administrative center, the town of Dhunat, which Geography Dhunat Upazila has a total area of . It lies on the west bank of the Jamuna River. It borders Gabtali and Sariakandi upazilas to the north, Sirajganj District to the east and south, and Sherpur and Shajahanpur upazilas to the west. Demographics According to the 2011 Bangladesh census, Dhunat Upazila had 75,897 households and a population of 555,014, 7.8% of whom lived in urban areas. 10.3% of the population was under the age of 5. The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh is a non political and non profit research organisation registered under both Society Act of 1864 and NGO Bureau, Government of Bangladesh. The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh was established as the Asiatic Society of East Pakistan in Dhaka in 1952 by a number of Muslim leaders, and renamed in 1972. Ahmed Hasan Dani, a noted Muslim historian and archaeologist of Pakistan played an important role in founding this society. He was assisted by Muhammad Shahidullah, a Bengali linguist.
