Dhola is a census town and former petty Rajput princely state in Bhavnagar district, in the state of Gujarat, western India. History Dhola was one of many non-salute states in Gohilwad ''prant'' on Saurashtra peninsula, comprising only the village. Under the British raj, the colonial Eastern Kathiawar Agency was in charge of it. In 1901 it comprised only the village, with a population of 261, yielding 1,800 Rupees state revenue (1903-4, all from land), paying 384 Rupees tribute to the Gaikwar Baroda State and Junagadh State. Dhola, Diamond Harbour
Dhola is a census town and a gram panchayat within the jurisdiction of the Kulpi police station in the Kulpi CD block in the Diamond Harbour subdivision of the South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Geography Area overview Diamond Harbour subdivision is a rural subdivision with patches of urbanization. Only 14.61% of the population lives in the urban areas and an overwhelming 85.39% lives in the rural areas. In the western portion of the subdivision (shown in the map alongside) there are 11 census towns. The entire district is situated in the Ganges Delta and the western part, located on the east bank of the Hooghly River, is covered by the Kulpi Diamond Harbour Plain, which is 5–6 metres above sea level. Dhola Maru
The Dhola Maru is the romantic tale of Dhola and Maru in Rajasthan. The Rajasthani version is entirely different from a version found in Chhattisgarh. Literature The Dhola Maru story is deeply rooted in folklore and oral traditions. The story related work is available in prose and poetry as well as in mixed form also. 'Dhola Maru ri chaupai' a book composed by Jain monk Kushallabh in 1617, in which he writes that the story is old one, some manuscripts in 1473 also describes about the story. 'Dhola Maru ra doha' is the edited text by Kashi nagari Pracharini sabha. The tale depicts one of the most mesmerizing chapters of Rajput and rajasthani history. Story Rajasthani Version: This is a love story of Kachhwaha prince Dhola of Narwar and Poogal princess Maru. The couple is married in their childhood.
