He represents the Etmadpur constituency of Uttar Pradesh and is a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party political party. Early life and education Dharampal Singh was born in Mainpuri district. He attended the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University and attained Doctor of Philosophy degree. Political career Dharampal Singh has been a MLA for two terms. A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the legislature of State government in the Indian system of government. From each constituency, the people elect one representative who then becomes a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). Each state has between seven and nine MLAs for every Member of Parliament (MP) that it has in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's bicameral parliament. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is a national level political party in India that was formed to represent Bahujans (literally means "community in majority"), referring to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (OBC), along with religious minorities.
