Dhanyee Meye
''Dhanyee Meye'' ( bn, ধন্যি মেয়ে) is a 1971 Bengali romantic comedy film directed by Arabinda Mukhopadhyay. The cast includes Uttam Kumar, Sabitri Chatterjee, Partho Mukherjee, Jaya Bhaduri, Jahor Roy and Nripati Chattopadhyay. This is the third and only the second Bengali film of Jaya Baduri who become the popular actress in Hindi cinema. The noted music of the film composed by Nachiketa Ghosh. Plot The story centers around the character of Bogola (Partha Mukherjee); who is the younger brother of Kali Dutta (Uttam Kumar). Bogola is the captain of a football team Sarbamangala Club managed by his elder brother. The team goes to a village Harbhanga to play in the finals of the Nangteshwar Shield. Arabinda Mukhopadhyay
Arabinda Mukhopadhyay (18 June 1919 – 10 February 2016) was an Indian filmmaker, film director and editor, who directed all-time classics like Nishi Padma (1970), Dhanyee Meye (1971) and Mouchak (1974). He also wrote stories and screenplays. Early life and education Mukhopadhyay was born in Katihar District, Bihar on 18 June 1919. His family originally hailed from Sehakhala situated in Hooghly District of present-day West Bengal. His father, Satyacharan Mukhopadhyay, was a doctor, and his mother was Mrinalini Devi. His elder brother was the noted Bengali writer Balai Chand Mukhopadhyay. Career In a career spanning four decades, he directed total 26 full-length films, 3 telefilms and 1 television serial. Salil Dutta
Salil Dutta (30 November 1931 – 20 September 2004) was an Indian Bengalis, Bengali director, screenwriter and actor. He is well known for his films Surya Sikha (1963), Stree (1972) and Seyi Chokh (1976). Career Dutta was born in 1931 in British India. He started his career as assistant director of ''Trijama'' in 1956 and ''Khokababur Pratyabartan'' in 1960. The first film directed by him is Surya Sikha (1963) starred Uttam Kumar and Supriya Choudhury. He also acted in a number of films like ''Atithi (1965 film)'', ''Khelaghar'', ''Dhanyee Meye'' etc. Dutta directed 22 Bengali films in his career. Pulak Bandyopadhyay (; 2 May 1931 – 7 September 1999) was a Bengali Indian lyricist and songwriter of Bengali cinema. Early life He was born and brought up in Salkia, Howrah. Chinmoy Roy (1940–2019) was an Indian Bengali male actor. He was famous for his comic roles in Bengali movies, though his versatility has allowed him to play a variety of roles. Though he was known for portraying various character roles, Roy was equally at ease in portraying the famous fictional character Tenida on screen. He held his own among prominent performers like Soumitra Chatterjee, Robi Ghose and Tarun Kumar in the comedies ''Basanto Bilap'', ''Dhonni Meye'', and ''Nanigopaler Biye''.
